Vintage 1950s designer necklace by fashion house 'Trifari'. The necklace features large diamante glass stones set into a silver tone swirl pattern, the central design hangs from a snake chain. The necklace is marked TRIFARI PATENT PENDING, this was often stamped on pieces made between 1932 to 1954.

 

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Trifari is an eminent jewellery company of the USA starting in 1910 to 2000. Celebrated jewellery designer Alfred Philippe who in c.1930 left Van Cleef & Arpels to join Trifari a New York based company who became the largest costume jewellery maker in the United States. It produced many styles and prices of jewellery, covering different designs with quality craftsmanship. Trifari also created real pieces of jewellery for private clients including Hollywood stars, Broadway musicals and the US First Lady Mamie Eisenhower for the Presidential Inaugural Balls of 1953 and 1957. A truly diverse jewellery brand.

 

MEASUREMENT

The necklace measures 35cm / 14" in length with an extention chain of 10cm / 4" allowing the necklace to be 18" if required. The central design measures 5.8cm / 2.3" in length and 3.1cm / 1.2" in height.

 

CONDITION

The necklace is in excellent vintage condition.
